12/15 Weekend update

Since the new snow on Tuesday, there has been little change in our snow and the skiing has been excellent! The Pisten Bully has been out at Sunset Hills and Highland Glen after the wind and we did a lot of grading and smoothing work. We were able to get the trail quite a bit firmer overall but with the dry weather, there is enough loose snow at the surface for very nice, crust free conditions. We will do some grooming work to smooth things out, likely Saturday night, but that's it.

Sourdough got a nice touch up Friday night and should be great skiing. Remember to use caution in the 2 miles above the trailhead and to watch out for other trail users.

Bridger Creek is very thin but skiable. Ski traffic from BSF practice the other day actually helped a lot and conditions improved as we were out there. The upper loops are groomed but are extremely thin and not recommended. The lower loops are skiing quite well though.

A general heads up to in town skiers: next weekend BSF is hosting the first qualifier races for Junior Nationals for the Intermountain Region next weekend. As a result, the Sunset Hills trails will be closed next Saturday and Sunday for racing. While Highland Glen is open, the softball fields parking lots are likely to be quite full, you may want to park at the painted hills trailhead off of Kagy on the south side of Highland Glen.

Cheers!
