Summer dryland training is designed to keep athletes fit while having fun. We hike, bike, run, and play organized games (like soccer and frisbee). With BSF's professional coaches, you'll explore beautiful mountain trails and create new adventures.
Athletically, it helps develop cardiovascular capacity, endurance, flexibility, strength, and balance. But it's also about enjoying our environment and developing team-building skills, confidence, and friendships.
All kids are welcome to join us. (Soccer players, runners, outdoor enthusiasts, etc.) No specific ski skills are necessary to take part, and dryland training benefits all types of athletic and outdoor pursuits. No prior fitness levels requirements. In other words, as long as you want to move and enjoy the outdoors, COME JOIN US.

Locations and activities will vary; training schedules and meeting locations will be sent via email each week. Locations include but are not limited to: Bozeman Creek/Sourdough Canyon, Hyalite Canyon, Triple Tree, Mt. Ellis, South Cottonwood, Sypes Canyon, and Lindley Park.
Running shoes, workout clothes, water belt (or pack), snacks (such as energy bars), mountain bike (optional), helmet, ski poles (classic skiing length).

Any child is welcome. We'll build fitness throughout the summer (so don't worry about fitness levels coming into it).

Beartooth Mountains, MT
For: ages 12+
Spend three days and two nights camping in the Beartooth Mountains. We'll participate in the Beartooth Run 5k/10k at the top of Beartooth Pass (at 10,000 ft.). Enjoy camping with the team and we'll have time for extra activities in the area on Sunday.
Friday, July 12: 3pm depart BSF Office. Camp in Beartooths
Saturday, July 13: Run in the Beartooth Run 5k/10k at the top of Beartooth Pass (at 10,000 ft). After the race, we'll do some swimming (weather permitting) and team stretching/mobility.
Sunday: We'll crust ski (conditions allowing), or skate roller ski.
Cost: $110 (for the BSF component; race entry is separate)

Meals: not included. You can bring your own food (or we can stop at the grocery store in Red Lodge) for dinner Friday and breakfast/lunch on Saturday and Sunday, plus snacks. We will eat dinner in Red Lodge Saturday evening; bring money for that.
Packing: bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and needed camping gear. Bring running gear, skate skis (rock or training skis), and rollerski gear. Bring both roller ski poles and skate poles with snow baskets. Warm clothes. Swim suit.

August 4-15, 2019
Canmore/Banff, British Columbia
For: ages 12+
Spend 12 days in beautiful Canmore, Alberta, Canada. (Includes ten days of Nordic-specific dryland training and two days of travel.) We'll do two workouts a day. We'll run, rollerski at the Nordic center, hike in the mountains, swim in the rivers, and play game. Athletes stay in condo lodging at Canadian Rockies Chalets. There is time for rest and free time to choose activities.
Food: Breakfast and lunch is on your own or in small groups. (We'll make grocery store runs as needed.) Dinner will be provided each night by a professional caterer based in Canmore who has experience working with Nordic athletes.
Skate and classic roller ski equipment. Workout clothes. A valid passport to travel into Canada. A notarized letter from your parent/guardian to cross the border (if you're under 18).

October 11-13, 2019
A mini camp to nearby Homestake Pass, where we'll stay in their cabins and lodge and enjoy a weekend of team bonding, trails, games, and more.
