Hi everyone,
Last week, the BSF Pro Team was in Lake Placid, New York, for the 2026 U.S. Nationals. We all converged at our Airbnb, 15 minutes from the venue, after traveling from wherever we spent the holidays. Upon arrival, we had a day to get out, get our bearings at the venue, and catch up with our teammates. It was really nice to be on the good snow of the Lake Placid race trails, especially coming from the West and the pretty dry winter we’ve had out there. Then we had the next day to do our pre-race, test skis, and lock in before the first race of the week.

The race week consisted of a classic individual start 10k, a skate sprint, a skate mass start 20k, and a classic sprint. Overall, the team had a solid week at Nationals with some strong racing from the whole team. Racing at the Mt. Van Hoevenburg venue is always a pleasure, with a really fun and well prepped course. Another shoutout goes to Andy, Andrew, Kaelyn, Grey, and Lily for the excellent skis all week. While opportunities and plans are still getting put together, one outcome from Nationals that happened right away was naming the U23 World Championships team and I am really excited to have qualified as this was my major season goal! As always, all of us BSF Pro Team members are stoked for the rest of the season!
Now it's back to Bozeman for the team to recover and put in a good training block prior to the Minneapolis Supertours and U.S. Birkie. Every athlete will be on their own personalized plan, but we will all be focusing on maximising recovery between sessions, eating well, and staying on top of our immune systems. Personally, I planned a week at home in Aspen to get some high quality rest and get back in touch with the local Nordic community. Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters in Bozeman, as well as the greater Nordic community. Your cheering and support helps us so much toward our Nordic skiing and life goals.
