Smashing pavement with Conor Munns

Hey people! My name is Conor Munns and I am from Jericho, Vermont, where I am a sophomore and ski for the University of Vermont. Being from Vermont and having trained there all of my life it is nice to have a change of scenery for summer training and what better place than Bozeman. Bozeman is so different from Vermont but the most noticeable part is that the town is already 500ft higher than the tallest mountain in Vermont. This altitude mixed with training with some bad dudes makes for an exciting and productive summer. Half of the summer has already flown by filled with fun workouts and adventures and I’m sure the next half will do the same. Although I do not want to leave Bozeman I look forward to getting back to school in the fall, training with more new people, and dealing with whatever Rona throws at us.

This week has been a much-needed recovery week after a big volume week over the 4th of July, which was quite hard. We switched up the normal Wednesday intervals with some double pole and specific strength. Double poling up the final pitches of Jackson Creek was no easy task once, but Z Simon led the charge for another time up to finish off a solid session before some afternoon strength. This morning the group did some 7 minute L3 intervals with fast finishes. People were fired up and we got sufficiently worked. Looking forward to one last OD this week and getting back into some hard training!
