Park City Camp Update!

Hello!

Reid here, checking in from our Park City camp!

We have now been here in Utah for six days, with another five to go. As many of you might know, we are here training with the US Ski Team and many of the best skiers in the country. It is a big group down here and has been competitive and a ton of fun. This is my first time being here for this camp and it is really exciting to train in a new place and with new people.

Finn excited for our first ski of the year

Our first morning here we did some L4 bounding with all the athletes at Park City Mountain Resort, which was about half rain, half snow. We all went into this week expecting the worst for weather, but considering, we have come out pretty lucky. It started snowing pretty hard here in PC Monday night and the tentative sprint time trial at Soldier Hollow got pushed to Wednesday. Luckily, there wasn't much snow in Soldier Hollow and some of us did some speeds on the rollerski track, while some did an easy ski yesterday getting ready for our time trial today. We even went for a golf course on-snow ski yesterday evening - it was ok...but fun to say we did it. Our skate sprint time trial was this morning. The morning started off a bit chilly, but turned out to be a nice day when the sun came out. The time trial was set up in king’s court style, in which the winner moves up to the faster heat, and the loser moves down. We started with a qualifier, and then did a quarter, semi, and final just like a normal sprint. It was a super fun day and the whole bsf team threw down some great results. I felt very good and ended up second overall, which was a great experience to be in some heats. We have some more cool workouts planned, like our distance classic rollerski time trial on Friday, so stay tuned for an update at the end of the camp from Mariah.
