SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY: FIND YOUR ZONE OF OPTIMAL FUNCTIONING, an online session with Emily Danza

Wednesday, July 8
6:00 pm
Zoom Meeting

Mental tactics alongside physical training can become one of the biggest factors that influences ways in which athletes make decisions, approach training days and most importantly, how our race days develop because of our psyche. Sports and performance psychology is a trending phrase, but most people don't understand, nor do they know how to apply the concepts in direct relation to their everyday lives. That is where people like Emily come into action. This session will focus on simple mental skills tactics that athletes and coaches can use in their everyday lives and then transfer to training and racing. Find your own Individual Zone of Optimal Functioning!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Emily Danza was born and raised between Cervinia, Italy, and Big Sky, Montana. She grew up Alpine skiing and made it on to the Italian Development team. After a few too many injuries and wanting to continue in academia, she went to ski race for Montana State University and completed her degree in Physiological Psychology. She coached for BSF Alpine for four years and then went back to get her masters degree in Sports and Performance Psychology at the University of Denver, where we worked with different athletes of elite levels through the USOC in Colorado Springs, Major League Soccer players, skiers etc.

Emily now works as a Sports and Performance Consultant here in Bozeman while coaching the Montana State Alpine Ski Team.
