Bridger Ski Foundation is proud to be able to offer scholarships to our youth athletes. This is one of the ways we can ease the financial burden on local families and keep skiing more accessible.

For the 2020-21 season, we have decided to put our Ambassador Scholarships on hold and focus on providing need-based financial aid scholarships. Like most nonprofits, our fundraising events have been impacted by the pandemic, and as a result, we're going into the ski season with a tight budget in order to keep our organization as financially healthy as possible. At the same time, we recognize that this year may be financially challenging for many of our local families; thus, our decision to focus on need-based financial aid.

The deadline for applying for need-based financial aid scholarships is November 1, 2020. Applications can be found HERE.

While Ambassador Scholarships will be postponed, we do still plan to make merit scholarships available. Registered participants may be eligible for achievement-based scholarships (typically applied to competition travel expenses) throughout the season based on a participant’s athletic and other achievements and meeting specific criteria and attending specific events. There is no application process for Achievement-Based Scholarships.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

Participants in any of the BSF Intro, Development (Devo), Comp, and PG programs are eligible for need-based scholarships.

If you need assistance, apply for it! These funds are meant to keep kids skiing. Too often, we see families assume they make too much money to qualify for help, and yet they are considering limiting participation in a program because of the cost. Apply! We take income into account, as well as liabilities and special circumstances.

YOU SHOULD KNOW ....

Applications are confidential. Three members of our Scholarship Committee will review your need-based financial aid application. All three of these people are outside individuals who are not employees or board members of BSF. They are alumni parents who no longer have children in any of our programs. Your financial information will be shredded after the review process.

REGISTRATION

You will note on the application that we ask that your child already be registered for a program. Why? We want to know that they're dedicated to participating. We've seen too many instances of someone being awarded funding and then never signing up for the program; we hate to see scholarship funds go unused, especially if someone is waiting in the wings. If your circumstances make this requirement difficult, please contact us!
