Bridger Ski Foundation (BSF) Freeski Program Director Cody Ling has announced he will be departing Bozeman and the Bridger Ski Foundation at the end of this season. A talented skier and coach, Cody brought his teaching background to the slopes and inspired athletes at every level. The influence he’s had on our athletes and coaches will be felt for years to come.

BSF Executive Director Evan Weiss notes, “I've been proud to work alongside Cody for the last eight years and to watch him become one of our strongest BSF leaders. Cody has developed a strong team culture and has given opportunities to our athletes that until recently seemed unreachable. I wish Cody and his family the best on their new adventures.”

“Cody’s impact on our freeskiing program has been incredible,” says Freestyle Director Mike Papke. “He brought a new level of skiing, progression, and passion to our park athletes as well as our entire community of athletes in BSF. We’re grateful for everything he’s given and wish Cody and his family nothing but the best in their next chapter. Once BSF, always BSF."

BSF will begin a search to fill this role this spring.

A Letter From Cody

Dear BSF Families,

One of the hardest parts of coaching is knowing when it’s time to turn the page. With a full and grateful heart, I want to share that I will be stepping away from my program director and

coaching role at the end of this season. My family and I will be moving back to Minnesota, where we are both from, and I will be starting a new career running operations for NorthFork

Coffee Company. I also hope to be coaching freeskiing at Hyland Hills for the team that I grew up on, which I am very excited about.

It has been an amazing opportunity to coach these kids. Through all the ups and downs that come with ski competition, I have been blown away by the growth and resiliency that they have

all shown. I have spent enough time around different ski and snowboard clubs across the country to know that BSF has a culture unlike any other. That culture comes from our families,

our athletes, and the amazing staff across the club.

It is truly tough to put into words what this job has meant to me over the last eight years. The people that I have met, and the relationships I’ve made along the way have been like family. I

can’t thank you all enough for the support and encouragement you have shown me throughout my time at BSF.

I will look back at these years as some of the best in my life and that is because of how amazing the community is within BSF.
