Kyle Marvinney is BSF's coach of the month for February. Many of you know him as the Trails Manager for BSF's grooming program. But he's also a fantastic coach for BSF's youth and adult programs and a valuable wax technician for BSF racers. You could say he does it all. And at BSF we depend on him--a lot.

Kyle grew up skiing in the woods of central Maine and he skied for St. Lawrence University in college. He began coaching and grooming in Driggs, Idaho, in 2012. When Kyle moved to Bozeman in 2014, he began coaching and grooming for BSF. In 2016, he took over as the Trails Manager for BSF. Many of you have probably read his regular grooming reports and skied the trails he grooms. He's as adept at laying down the corduroy as he is tinkering with fussy snow machines, managing the grooming crew, serving as a trails ambassador, and working with all our trails partners throughout the year.

In addition to early mornings and late nights on the grooming circuit, Kyle is a valuable Nordic coach. He coaches the U14 Nordic team with Coach Gro and the U16 team with Coach Lina. And he helps out with sessions in the adult Nordic program, as well.

Nordic Program Director Dragan Danevski says, "Everybody likes him because he gives good feedback to every skier."

Kyle also travels with the Nordic team to their Junior National Qualifier races, where he works with Coach Rogan as a wax technician, testing skis and waxes and waxing racers' skis.

If that doesn't make your tired just thinking about it, Kyle is here to remind us it's still about the joy of skiing. He still loves to step onto his skis--be it to play tag with the kids, to enjoy the trails, hop into a race, or carve turns on alpine skis.

Kyle set up the course for this Citizen's Cup race, then put on a race suit and jumped into the race.

Outside of BSF, Kyle also works for the National Park Service as a biological science technician, monitoring upland vegetation and white bark pine for the Greater Yellowstone Network, an inventory and monitoring program for Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, and Big Horn Canyon.

Thanks, Kyle, for everything you do!
