A New Focus on Mental Health

December 2, 2022
by:

BSF has developed a new series of support tools for coaches, parents and athletes. The goal: to support mental health with tools to increase confidence and performance in all areas of life, and to decrease stress and anxiety. With a grant from the AMB West Community Fund, we recently provided a day of mental health training for many of our head coaches and program directors. Next up: a session for parents and coaches on the teenage brain, hosted by BSF and BYEP.

THE TEENAGE BRAIN

Wednesday, December 7

5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Backcountry Store, 33 South Bozeman Ave.

We'll cover the basics every parent and coach should know about the changes to an adolescent's brain as they develop, how it impacts everyday life, mental health, skiing, and the more difficult challenges our youth may face. You'll learn helpful tools to support and understand the teens in your life.

Open to all BSF & BYEP parents and staff. Light refreshments will be served.

Speaker: Emily Danza  was an athlete and Alpine ski coach at both the club level with BSF and then at the collegiate level before becoming a well-respected sports and performance consultant and clinical therapist. BSF has retained Emily for this ski season to help our athletes and coaches thrive and to be available for questions and concerns. She'll also be dropping by team practices throughout the winter to observe and talk about practical tools and processes that can help athletes with the mental side of their sport.
