All of Highland Glen was groomed with the Pisten Bully and new tracks were set in most places there. The snow held up fairly well through the warm spell and though there are thin spots. Skiing should be fast on skate skis and klister skiing should be pretty fun if you're wanting classic.
Sunset Hills got a skate refresher; the snow was much harder and in light of wanting to save our base for races in December, it wasnt worth cutting deep to get rid of the old tracks. It is still possible to classic ski Sunset Hills, but the tracks are hard and icey and klister will wear away quickly.
Bridger Creek also got a skate refresher and should be very nice skate skiing. The snow was too hard to reset a classic track with a snowmobile.
I know I am starting to sound like a broken record, but runners continue to be an issue at Highland Glen. I am finding several inch deep foot prints every time I groom and in places I cant cut them out, even with the Pisten Bully. So please inform any runner or walker you see on the ski trails that the groomed trails in Highland Glen are not multi use and that it is very disappointing to find deep foot prints in the center of the skate platform.
Cheers!
