Thursday Morning update: All of our venues continue to provide excellent skiing! Last night, Sourdough was groomed to Moser Divide and fresh tracks were set from the Sourdough trail head. This morning, Sac Middle School, the MSU loop, and the Dog Loop are being groomed. All of our venues will again be groomed Friday night for weekend skiing. For skiers at Sunset Hills and Highland, since the tracks were set with the pisten bully and cut into the older snow quite a ways, we recommenend using a binder under your kick wax: there is a little bit of ice in the tracks and binder will make classic skiing work much better.
Tonight (Monday 1/22), Sunset Hills, Highland Glen, and the Mystic leg of Sourdough are being regroomed. Sunset Hills and Highland groomed out beautifully and will be perfect skiing for Tuesday. The first mile of Sourdough was getting bumpy but the snow is soft enough it should groom out nicely. With high pressure, every time we groom it is getting firmer and better, even with just snowmobiles.
Bridger Creek was groomed Monday night and should still be excellent skiing.
On Tuesday, we are planning to do some grooming up at Hyalite, check back for an update of what we get done. Due to the furlough, nothing has been done up there in over a week.
Cheers!
