Last Sunday's storm brought enough low-density snow to make things look good, but not enough for grooming. We did make an attempt to roll, but it was bringing up a lot of dirt and and grass and doing more harm than good. The colder temps have allowed us to setup and start crew training and testing the new snowmaking system. The good news is, it works!!! Our efforts right now are solely for crew training and operational planning to see what it can do, and how to best proceed when the forecast looks good to make snow and get the Pisten Bully out there. If you are out enjoying Sunset Hills during snowmaking operations, please give the crew space and be extremely careful. Sub-surface hazards and pre-season conditions exist. The warmer week ahead will test the durability of the machine made snowpack. At this point, we are not planning to groom, but will be on deck to if enough natural snow falls. Be safe & check back for updates!
