Now that it has cooled off and dried out, all of our in town trails have been groomed and are looking fantastic. Since we groomed at night, everything should be well set up by tomorrow morning. Cheers!

Well, this is another nice shot of wet snow for our trails. However, after the very warm day and warm night that followed, the old snow underneath is soft and damp. What this means is that the tracks on the snow cat will dig too deeply in our already thin snow pack and risk churning up a lot of dirt, especially on corners. Snowmobiles meanwhile, will be very difficult to steer and will have a very hard time climbing hills with a grooming implement in tow (even the roller, we tried it Saturday in similar conditions) in this wet snow. So, we are not grooming this morning. There looks to be a nice cool down coming tonight, so we will hit everything either late tonight or early tomorrow morning. With the thin snow and more warm days on the way, its all about grooming when we will do the least damage possible. Remember, we are a non-profit, not a ski area doing daily business, so we that is even more reason to operate carefully, so bear with us. Also, it is only mid-November; from everything I hear, this is not a usual start to the winter season around Bozeman. So enjoy the fresh snow and make the most of it, we will have nice trails Wednesday morning!

Also, dont forget our pint night at Lockhorn Cider House tonight. Starting at 4:30PM, bring your trail pass in (or buy one there, we will be selling them) and get a free cider!
