Mid Week Update

No grooming this evening or tomorrow morning, all of our venues are in excellent condition. Sourdough got a thorough treatment from the Pisten Bully Tuesday night and we turned the near ice of the first mile into skiable snow and classic tracks.

Today (Wednesday), we installed a new, one kilometer ski loop on the MSU intramural fields of Lincoln St, in partnership with their Outdoor Recreation Program. This will be a convenient ski loop for people at MSU who want to get out for a quick lap in the middle of the day or after work before going home for dinner. The Outdoor Rec Program is also hoping this will help encourage MSU students to rent skis, get out on the trails, and understand ski trail etiquette. We are excited to go forward with this new partnership!

Now for some not so good news: so far this season, we have had 4 signs stolen from BSF maintained trails. Three have been our trail use signs (the yellow ones); one from Sunset Hills, and two from the Lindley Park Dog Loop which were specific to that trail. Lastly, the new "stay in your lane" trail etiquette sign for Sourdough was stolen. This was securely mounted to a wooden post and would have taken some effort. If you see any suspicious around our signage, do not hesitate to report it.

Finally, at Bridger Creek Golf Course, skiers need to be parking at the Bridger Creek Golf Course Clubhouse on McIlhatten Rd, not on the corner of Boylan Rd and Storey Mill Rd. yes, the trail is close to the road here, but this is a residential area and we need to respect the residents of that neighborhood. There is plenty of parking space at the clubhouse. I know that parking lot is icey, but please use it. We even provide a porta potty there!

Looks like a little more snow coming for the weekend, we'll be ready for it!
