Grooming Update - October 25
Posted on:
October 25, 2020 8:10 AM

We decided to take advantage of this October snowfall and packed down the loop at Sunset Hills this weekend. On Sunday, we knocked down drifts from Saturday, re-packed & combed everything.

Conditions are soft, and will be drifted in places.

Pre-season conditions and sub-surface hazards exist:
Please use caution- especially around the new snowmaking pump house and at the bottom of the sledding hill.
Crews will continue to remove, mark or cover these as we get more snow and move into the regular season. (We haven't started making snow yet, but you can learn about the new system and donate to the project HERE.)

All other venues in the Community Nordic Trails system remain ungroomed right now.

Please note: grooming does not start in Sourdough or Hyalite until December 2 (after the end of the general hunting season.)

And it's important that we all stay off the Bridger Creek Golf Course for now (skiing or grooming too early can damage their greens). Thanks!!

SKIING DURING COVID-19 TIMES

While the outdoors has become our "safe place" in many ways this year, please remember to keep your distance/give your neighbors space on the trails. (For safety AND enjoyment.)

  • Social distancing still applies on the trails and in parking lots.  Keep at least 6 feet of distance with other trail users whether they are in your group or not (and keep group sizes small).
  • Be courteous to other trail users (we can still say “hello” and be friendly) and allow plenty of room for others to pass.
  • Bridger Ski Foundation will work on communicating times/locations that our ski programs plan on using the trails this winter. While we've split our teams into smaller groups this year, we realize that you may still want to seek out quieter trails. Stay tuned to grooming report for updates.

Have fun out there!
