Alpine Roundup - Early February

The BSF Alpine teams powered through a busy couple of weeks on the road, with an impressive tally of results and three athletes qualifying for appearances at the Junior National Championships. Big Sky Speed Series

For the Big Sky speed series, U14-19 qualifying event, the team skied really well overall, said BSF Alpine Program Director Pete Petry. "Lots of consistent skiing throughout the weekend. Big Sky experienced a ton of weather throughout the weekend and the schedule had to be adjusted daily to accommodate extra time for clearing fresh snow from courses."Team scores:

Coach Kenny Wilson led a small group of BSF athletes to Utah over the past weekend.  Max Larimer, Octavia Fisher, and Evin Haworth participated and gave the athletes great exposure, as fields were very competitive, with a number of college athletes  in attendance. Gold Point Standings

In other exciting news, we have have three BSF athletes leading the point standings for Northern Division, where an overall point system is used based on finishes in all races held in Northern Division.  U21 athlete Amelia Volk leads her age group.  Riley Asbell and Max Larimer lead the U19 age group.  With only a few northern events left, the Red Lodge series coming up next week, and the OHG Championships here on home snow at Bridger, these athletes are in a great spot.
