by:

We're excited to announce that Pete Petry is joining the BSF staff as the new Alpine Program Director. Most recently, he was the assistant coach for Montana State University's Alpine Ski Team, and his  Montana ski roots include five years as the head Alpine coach for the Silver Run Ski Team in Red Lodge. He was also a member of the Rocky Mountain College Ski Team. In addition, Pete coached for the McCall Ski Racing Team and served in the U.S. Army.

He’s a Level 300 Alpine Coach and has a degree in business management from Rocky Mountain College.  Outside of skiing and coaching, you’ll most likely find Pete on a bike or running up a mountain trail somewhere.

BSF Executive Director Evan Weiss notes, "I'm looking forward to working with Pete. He's an extremely hard worker and passionate about the sport. And I think he's going to make an immediate positive impact on the programming."

We’re excited to have Pete on board, and he’s getting a jump start to his first week, as he’ll be joining the BSF Alpine Team at their Beartooth Basin summer camp, which just happens to be in his Red Lodge stomping grounds.

A quick note from Pete:

Hello BSF families,

Hope everyone is having a fun and active summer! I wanted to reach out and say hello and thank you for the opportunity to serve as your new Alpine Director.  It goes without saying what a special community the Bridger Ski Foundation is, and to have the chance to work directly with all of you is truly humbling.

Originally from northern Wisconsin, my love for ski racing developed on the modest hills of the Midwest. From my first YSL races to my final collegiate start, I am forever grateful for the opportunities ski racing provided. I am excited for the coming months ahead and look forward to working with all of you.  Please don’t hesitate to call or write if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Pete
