The BSF Freestyle Team hosted a successful weekend of freestyle moguls competition, welcoming athletes from across the region for two days of exciting skiing and head-to-head competition.
Unseasonably warm temperatures created true spring bump conditions for Saturday’s two-run single moguls events, challenging athletes to adapt and ski smart in changing snow conditions. Despite the warmth, competitors delivered strong performances across the board.
On the women’s side Saturday, the Papke sisters finished second and third overall, with teammate Logan Baack placing fifth. On the men’s side, Oliver Lacey earned a third-place finish overall, rounding out a strong day for the BSF Freestyle team.
Sunday’s competition featured a one-run single moguls event followed by a highly anticipated dual moguls competition. The duals brought a head-to-head format and tough competition from teams including Sun Valley, Park City Ski Team, and Wasatch, alongside regional athletes from Missoula and Bozeman.
In the women’s dual moguls event, Meg Papke took the win, while Makayla Papke finished third. On the men’s side, Oliver Lacey once again landed on the podium with a third-place finish, continuing his consistent weekend performance.
“Our athletes skied extremely well, and we saw so many competitors ski above their current ability,” said Mike Papke. “For some, this was their first moguls event of the season, and we even had athletes competing their first backflips. That kind of progression is what makes these events so special.”
Dual moguls proved to be a fan favorite, offering fast-paced, high-energy competition that showcased both technical skill and competitive grit.
