BSF Pro Team athlete Finn O’Connell is one of 22 athletes named to the 2022/23 U.S. Cross Country Ski Team Team. O’Connell had a breakthrough season finishing fourth overall in the men’s Supertour standings and was named to the men’s B Team on May 10.

“I was really able to focus on everything that comes with skiing last year: training, rest, recovery, and racing. It really showed during the season with nine top-ten SuperTour finishes,” said O’Connell. “Being consistent all season reiterated to me the fact that I was able to compete with the best!”

O’Connell skied for the University of Vermont before joining the Bridger Ski Foundation’s Pro Team in 2020. The Pro Team is a community-supported Olympic development program that supports a small group of talented, committed skiers who are competing on the national and international stage.

Next year will be a big step up for O’Connell and he’s ready to seize his opportunity to train and race at the highest level of the sport. “Being on the U.S. Ski Team will provide me with a lot of opportunities to continue to grow as a skier. I will have more resources and staff to utilize through the summer and winter, and I will also be able to occasionally train with all the members of the U.S. Ski Team at different training camps throughout the year.”

O’Connell will continue to represent the Bridger Ski Foundation as his club team next year as he prepares for the biggest races in the world. “I am very excited to see how much I can improve this year and excited to keep being involved in the BSF and Bozeman community.”

Congratulations, Finn!
