May 31, 2024
Jenny White

Sixteen BSF athletes will be graduating from high school this week and moving on to new adventures, many of their plans defined by skiing. We have loved watching them grow up in BSF, gaining confidence, building community, and becoming team leaders. Each of them shared a favorite BSF memory with us, and filled us in on what's next.

Reeve Alexander

Nordic Team

What’s Next: Reeve will spend a post-grad year in Norway before attending Middlebury College in 2025.

Brenna Barton

Nordic Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Skiing out to Moraine Lake during the Canmore Thanksgiving Camp

What’s Next: Brenna will study engineering at MSU while also training with the Crosscut Elite Team (because in addition to Nordic skiing, she’s a great biathlete!)

Cole Bothner

Nordic Team

Favorite BSF Moments: At the Valentine’s Day Fun Ski in 2023, the U18 boys raced in costume and then had a blast posing at the photobooth. Second, mentored by his coaches, Cole set and worked toward big goals at Senior Nationals in 2024. Cole’s efforts were rewarded when he raced to a 3rd place finish in the U18 distance freestyle, helping him to earn a spot on the Scando Cup Team.

Words of wisdom learned from a former teammate: You can do it!

What’s Next: Cole will attend Williams College in Massachusetts and race with their Division I Nordic Team.

Kell Christianson

Nordic Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Racing at Senior Nationals with his teammates.

What’s Next: Kell is taking a gap year to be in Oslo, Norway, for training and skiing.

Words of Wisdom: BSF is the best community, so listen to what your coaches and teammates have to offer.

Rhys Greene

Freeski Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Going on a ski trip to Park City for a week.

What’s next: Working, traveling, skiing. Thinking about what comes next.

Tor Greene

Freeski Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Putting down my cleanest run of the season at Targhee. And all the time I got with Coach Cody and our crew.

What’s next: Cool stuff.

Jasper Jacobsen

Nordic Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Climbing The Great Northern Mountain in Whitefish on a 5-hour hike.

What’s Next: Taking a gap year to focus on skiing and train in Norway.

Eli Irby

Favorite BSF Moment: First team trip to Park City for the Futures Tour.

What’s next? Eli will be taking a gap year and skiing as much as possible.

Hanna Kluck

Nordic Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Sitting around the campfire at a summer training camp. “We all shared memories and stories and then our coach Andrew Morehouse played the guitar and we all sang Wagon Wheel. I also have made many more memories and became part of an amazing group of people who I now consider family.”

What’s Next: Hanna will attend  Montana State University in the honors college, studying Biochemistry.

Congrats to Hanna on being valedictorian of her class at Butte High School!

Alyvia Leipheimer

Snowboarding/Freeski Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Competing in the 2023 MSU Rail Jam with her teammates and other Bozeman friends.

What’s Next: Alyvia will attend the University of Utah for Parks, Recreation, and Tourism with an emphasis in Outdoor Recreation!

Wylie Mugaas

Freeski Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Going to Futures in Park City and skiing Woodward with the team.

What’s Next? Wylie will be attending MSU to study mechanical engineering.

Natalie Nicholas

Nordic Team

Favorite BSF Moment: The 'daily dip' during a training camp in Canmore. After every workout we would go swimming in a river or lake. It was super fun and we were in such a beautiful place.

What’s Next: Natalie will attend the University of New Hampshire, where she will study biochemistry and ski for the UNH ski team. She looks forward to some East Coast racing!

Words of wisdom: HAVE FUN and have gratitude for the amazing places and people we get to experience / meet through skiing!

Savannah Schnabel

Freeride Team

Favorite BSF Moment: Placing 3rd at Park City after not being able to ski for 6 weeks.

What’s Next: Attending Montana State University

Wyatt Stoddart

Nordic Team

What’s Next: Wyatt will attend the University of Utah to study engineering.

Words of Wisdom: Take every opportunity you get because that’s how you’ll make the best memories.

Woody West

Nordic Team

Favorite BSF Moment: When some guys on the comp team decided to do a 100km roller ski in Paradise Valley, self supported off the Emigrant gas station. They broke a few skis and poles but all made it eventually!

Advice: I would say that my advice is to stick with your sport and enjoy meeting all the friends and cool people that come with it.

What’s Next: Woody is planning to take a post-grad year to focus on skiing! The plan is to travel to Norway in the fall and early winter, then return for US Nationals and race domestically the rest of the winter with BSF.

Landon Wyatt

Favorite BSF Moment: Crust cruising up around Crosscut this past year.

What’s Next: Landon will attend the University of Denver and ski on their Nordic Team.

Congratulations, Class of 2024!
