U.S. Ski & Snowboard Certification

In May 2015, Bridger Ski Foundation (BSF) was named a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Gold Certified Club.

Gold Medal USSA Club

Bridger Ski Foundation is a member club of U.S. Ski and Snowboard (formerly USSA), the national governing body of Olympic skiing and snowboarding.

The Gold Certification is reserved for clubs that are "best in the world," according to USSA. These clubs serve as a model both organizationally and athletically, and are resources to the sport as a whole.

In 2014, USSA rolled out a new Club Certification  program for its member clubs. Certification is a process ensuring that all clubs strive to follow best principles and practices. Clubs can achieve increasing levels of certification as they demonstrate excellence.

BSF went through a comprehensive self- and peer-based organizational assessment. This process assessed both organizational and athletic performance, using approximately 140 elements and multiple submittals that represent club success. Learn more about the USSA Club Certification here.

The U.S. Ski & Snowboard club certification raises Bridger Ski Foundation's profile in the skiing community.  Our athletes and families will experience the result of even more focused and efficient athletic programming. With the help of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, we have developed assessment tools to track and evaluate club progress that will facilitate planning, and we will have access to resources that will enhance our operations and ensure business sustainability. In the end, this makes BSF stronger and it provides more opportunities for more members of our community to ski and pursue their dreams.

A big thank you to everyone involved in this process: parents, athletes, members, and community partners. We thank you for your support and for all that you do to make BSF a Gold Club!

“BSF is an excellent example of a club that serves the entire community and is recognized as one of the most important community partners in Bozeman, MT. Building on a rich history of volunteerism, in 2010 BSF engaged in a comprehensive organizational overhaul with the intention of restructuring governance and leadership, running a more professional organization, and streamlining operations and fundraising. Professional and well-established program leadership in three sports (Alpine, Cross Country, Freestyle) and the coordination of a major trails program whereby the organization grooms ski trails at five venues for its cross-country program and the community set BSF apart.”
