Junior National Qualifier Race in Bozeman - event info
Nordic skiing for everyone
From age 5 to adults, BSF has Nordic ski opportunities for everyone. Plus, we groom five venues of community ski trails in Bozeman. (See below for program details.)
Youth Ski League offers beginning instruction for the youngest Nordic skiers (age 5-12) interested in Tuesday, Thursday and/or Saturday sessions for eight weeks starting mid-January. For the 2016 season, we will offer groups focusing on classic technique, skate and classic, and – new this year – just skate technique. Skate gear will be available to rent through BSF (at a low cost).
The Junior Program is available for skiers ages 8-20 (U10-U20) who are looking to improve skate and classic technique, enhance fitness, and have a lot of fun. Ski season training begins in early September and runs through the middle of March or early April, with a summer dryland option available for U12 and older athletes. Our Junior Team consists of the Development Team (U10-U14) and the Competitive Team, which includes the U16 Team the U18-U20 Team.
The Post-Graduate (P-G) Team is designed for older junior athletes who wish to bring their ski racing to a higher level before attending college or joining the Elite team.
The Elite Team is available for competitive skiers beyond their junior years (20+). Coaching is designed to help these athletes reach the highest levels in the sport.
Community Nordic Team (formerly known as "Masters") offers adult skiers a number of training, clinic, and social options in both the fall and winter. Open to adults of all ages and abilities interested in improving their ski technique and fitness, meeting friends, and having fun on the snow.
