Locations and activities will vary; training schedules and meeting locations will be sent via email each week . Locations include but are not limited to: Bozeman Creek/Sourdough Canyon, Hyalite Canyon, Triple Tree, South Cottonwood, Sypes Canyon, and Lindley Park. Activities will include stretching, strength training, running, games, hiking with and without poles, and biking (athletes will need a mountain bike and helmet). J2 and older athletes will need skate and classic roller skis and poles, as well as a helmet. J3s who are going to Canmore Camp will roller ski later in the summer, closer to camp departure.
Canmore Summer Training Camp
Canmore, Alberta, July 25 - August 5, 2013
Canmore Camp is held over a 12-day period that has 9 days of Nordic-specific dryland training and 2 days of travel. This camp is for J3 and older athletes. A BSF J3-specific group coach will accompany J3 athletes to the camp. Athletes need skate and classic roller ski equipment and must have a valid passport to travel into Canada. Most days encompass two practices a day with varied intensities and goals. Athletes stay in condo-type lodging, and meals are prepared individually or in small groups. There is time for rest and free time to choose activities, so participants need to be self-disciplined and independent. Only athletes participating in summer training are eligible for this camp. More information will follow.
