We are offering this masters training to best prepare you for the winter and more enjoyable racing and skiing in general. With this training you will have the chance to maximize your development, reaching your potential, and or maintain your fitness and physical balance. It is our hope that this will encourage many more folk to come out and train with us during the fall!
Fall training will start September 4. We offer three sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays: Noon session - roller ski group and dryland training group. The afternoon training will only be dryland training. The training will include general fitness, aerobic and anaerobic activities, general and specific strength and power, ski coordination, balance, and ski technique (classic and skating).
The winter training will start early December. We will have four days training: Mondays and Wednesdays at noon skating for women; Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon with two separate session for beginners and advanced skiers; and Tuesday and Thursday afternoon class for everybody. We will keep all of these classes open so you can choose and pick any given day upon your work schedule. The winter classes are for all of you who are planning to race or just wanting to improve your ski fitness and ski technique, and using it on a various terrain. We will include a routine warm up, preparation for important races and peaking, recovery training, and maintaining fitness training.
We are open to work with people who are interested for more individual training. We will introduce periodization, training blocks and how to use heart rate monitors. That will include target heart rate and training zones, anaerobic threshold, and maximum heart rate.
Masters can mix and match sessions to fit their schedules as needed; coaches will vary depending on session. Classes focus on skating but the more advanced classes can incorporate classic technique. The Tuesday/Thursday winter noon sessions will have beginner and advanced options, depending on numbers and interest.
